Recommendations for Routine Inspection and Maintenance of Transformers

Power supply scenarios for expressways and municipal projects are characterized by dispersed locations, complex environments, and challenging operation and maintenance (O&M); consequently, transformers require exceptional reliability, low maintenance needs, and weather resistance.
Key application scenarios: Expressway service areas, toll stations, tunnel lighting, surveillance equipment, municipal road lighting, park power distribution, bridge electromechanical systems, and power distribution for the renovation of aging urban utility networks.
Key Selection Requirements
1. High reliability and minimal maintenance: Given the dispersed and unmanned nature of project sites, fully sealed oil-immersed transformers are preferred to eliminate failures caused by leakage or moisture ingress, ensuring maintenance-free operation over the long term.
2. Strong weather resistance: Equipment must be suitable for complex outdoor conditions-including high temperatures, extreme cold, heavy rain, sandstorms, and salt spray-and meet standards for corrosion resistance, UV protection, and aging resistance.
3. Low noise and low loss: For sites located near residential areas or municipal roads, low-noise units with three-dimensional wound cores should be selected to avoid noise complaints while reducing municipal power consumption.
4. Suitability for distributed loads: As individual site loads are often small and power usage is dispersed, equipment parameters must be precisely matched to avoid energy waste caused by oversizing (using equipment with a capacity far exceeding the actual load).
